WINNERS – "YOUR STORY" AWARDS
My grandfather Dom had no higher praise for anything than to call it a "winner." If a story really jumps out at us, as being really funny or touching or vivid or true, then we will call it a winner with a “Your Story” award.
Now, from one way of thinking a "Your Story" Award isn't really worth anything. As Uncle Frank might say, "one of those Awards plus a $20 bill will buy you a cup of frappojellico or whatever they call coffee these days." But from another way of thinking it's worth quite a lot:
- It has a gold bar, not a white one, when it appears over in the "Latest Stories" stack. (Plus it says Winner right in the title)
- It has a comment written underneath it when it appears in lists of stories. Unfortunately these comments are written by us and are probably less clever than your story.
- If someone clicks "Winner" in the word mess (YM: um, "tag cloud") then they see your story!
- Somebody really liked what you did. They got it.
